Would keep to the rear guard of the group, letting the scouts do their thing and remained away from them. He could sneak if he had do but that was not his strong suit. His strong suite lay in sundering the foes before him, brewery and singing in this order. A new talent though was his ability to mimic sounds which he'd grown fond of over the last year. He would do his best to keep a watch from the rear of the group with narrowed eyes. He wished he was back on the ship, an isle of illusion did not sit well with him.

Crack! From the outside, the hut was safe.. however when Naia ventured inside to collect the items that she had spotted, things quickly went south for her. Floorboards under her broke under her weight, possibly the result of years of rot set in. In and of itself, this would not have been problematic, but for the particularly jagged, broken rocks that seemed to rest under the dockside hut. The Crusader wasn't impaled - the rocks weren't that narrow that would be a terrible concern - but the stone did do some damage in causing her ankle to turn and break, before collapsing into the rest of the rock under her own body weight. Her head struck a stone as she fell, causing blotches of light and color to blur her vision. Dazed as she was, she would be vulnerable.
Rei was right to concern herself with traps - one incident such as with Naia could be attributed to a rickety old building. However, when Rei was stalking down the ravine, her foot clipped a dry root.. which caused a small rockslide. This, like Naia's incident, was nothing lethal, however pummeled her with fist-sized stones. One of said stones struck the Vyssian in the temple, causing her to collapse to the dirt. Somehow, through sheer force of will, the woman managed to retain consciousness, though was dazed and certainly in some pain.
That... probably answered Seti's question to himself in part. Those were certainly noises, anyways.
In truth, there was wildlife, though much not in the immediate area. Quieter animal noises were likely suppressed by the sounds of waves crashing through the straits, however he could see some eider nesting on some or the barrier rocks rimming the island itself, diving for fish. There were some vague signs of hare presence as well, scant as that might be, and what he thought might have been a fox track. Nothing particularly large or threatening, however.

Burst into the old shack and stopped in his tracks. The hole in the floorboard was a bad sign and if they had given way to Naia's weight he would surely cause the board to break. Regardless he would skirt around to edge of the inside of the hut to try to get a better view into the hole if he could. "Naia! Say something." He called out to her. Hopefully someone lighter than he could move in closer with some rope. If he was able to get a good look at Naia from up on the shack flooring he would attempt to lower the shaft of Kiisgor down to Naia for her to grasp while he held onto the ace beard, blade pointed away from him.. Hopefully it would reach the injured companion

Fell, it seemed to her, in slow motion. Slow motion that was abruptly turned into normal speed when she hit the rocks. There was the crack of her ankle and the crack of her head on the stone. Pain splashed itself along her vision and erupted along her leg, through her head and shoulders. Naia didn't scream from the pain, the bewildering lights and pain in her head canceling out the instant reaction from the ankle. Pushing against the rocks with Woten's voice coming in waves from above her. Groggily she mouthed 'be careful', shaking her head to try and clear the brilliance and daze and finding it made it all that much worse. Gagging on bile as she felt like throwing up from the pain in her leg and the swimming vision.
Resorting to keeping very, very still with her eyes on a piece of rock in front of her til the nausea fled. Letting indeterminable minutes tick by before she spoke evenly "Mind the hole. " If the shaft of Kiisgor swam in her vision where she was, she'd reach for it and try to hold on, otherwise the first means of behind hauled out would be grasped for

...The sound of rotten wood creaking and ultimately breaking snapped Emma out of her own daze as she was trying to collect herself atop a semi-smooth rock nearby the hut, body still somewhat numb and tingly from the incident aboard the boat. Wait...does she feel numb, or does she feel raw? With Mana Burn, it's honestly a mixture of both. "I...um, Naia?" she calls vaguely in the direction she remembers her swimmin-...walking. After a moment, the Witch tries to force herself to her feet upon seeing Woten move, but her knees suddenly feel like jelly and she's forced to sit back down. "Ugh..."

"Easy! The ritual took a heavy toll from you", Shamus said as he moved to steady the fatigued Emma, "Here...", he said, offering a clear liquid with a purple tinge, smelling vaguely of lilac, but tasting somewhat of hints of mineral and salt, "It's a rejuvenation draught. Er, my own".
Privately, he worried immensely at the sounds they just heard and looked with concern as Woten moved. Gritting his teeth in anticipation of being called to attend to injuries.

Rei really wished someone would stop shouting in her ear. She was awake. It wasn't time to get out of bed yet. Hell, it was still dark outside, and why the heck did her head hurt so badly. Suddenly everything rushed back, and the young Vyssian pulled herself up to all fours with a groan and a hiss of pain. Stupid. Stupid girl. Should have seen that a mile away. Who ever heard of a Shei tripping over a root before?
Rei would have liked to help Naia, but she couldn't hear anything at the moment for the high pitched whine that pervaded her sense of hearing.

With things going sideways at once, it was fortunate that Seti could, in a sense, be in two places at once. He looked back over his shoulder towards his companion, who immediately swooped back towards Naia and Woten. The shoebill was capable of flying, and so was able to hover over the hole in (relative) safety. If Naia was unable to reach the haft of Woten's axe, the bird would grasp the back of her tunic with his talons and pull up mightily, hopefully lifting Naia high enough to either get her out of the hole entirely, or enough so that she could grab the axe haft.
Seti moves to help Rei, and he quietly attempts to patch her up a bit using some of his ranger magic. While he could pray to Habakano, he didn't know the woman well enough to say for sure if his patron might take ire with her, so he felt it would be on the safer side to use a healing magic that, while it was less potent, carried with it less risk. It should be sufficient to take away the pain and help clear her head, at least. He also tries to help the woman to her feet, keeping his eyes peeled for other traps.

The combined efforts of Rowan and Woten were easily enough to get the Crusader out of the pit. The Shoebill had nothing to fear from landing in the hole - the jagged rocks were no real risk to stand on, especially for a bird. Falling was that hazard, really. That she was up was enough, so she could have her fractured ankle seen to. Surprisingly, the rest of the hut seemed to still be pretty stable, and though neglected by time, no such rot was apparent anywhere but the floor.
A touch of ranger's divine blessing was enough to have Rei back at her senses. She had little more than cuts and bruises, and a rather large goose egg growing on her noggin before that anyways. The pair of scouts did find something strange about the.. rather localized collapse. The root.. simply didn't belong there. It wasn't actually attached to anything. Few but a scout or druid would be very keen to pick up on that so fast, and thankfully... both present were the former.
The two.. odd occurrences together meant.. probably one thing. The traps were crude, and exploited the territory they were in. That, coupled with the not-tracks that Seti had just found suggested.. there was probably a Marauder on this island. What was possibly his island.
Still, misfortunes aside, at least they had learned a couple basic facts. Like to be extra careful moving down that ravine.

Naia came up to the surface with the book in her hand and clutched it to her chest. With her pale face almost grey with pain, the woman grimaced as she lay back and gave Woten and Rown looks of gratitude. Clinging to the book and the knuckles were white. With her features twisted into pain, she spoke grimly "Thank you Woten.. Rowan.." Letting her head fall back and she lay queasy and trying to keep herself from vomiting after all the movement caused by being recovered from the hole. It at least prevented her from saying that they needed to just carry on and move quickly. Rising would be nauseating. Hand moving for one of the healing potions held in her satchel, one of the many she'd given out. Groping for it and fumbling the vial stopper out to drink it.
