Next Race - Half-Shei
The Half-Elf has the blessing of inheriting natural beauty from their Elvish bloodline, while inheriting the strength and durability of their human parents...
A neo-Victorian Magitech Adventure RPG
Craftsmen in Disguise: There is something about the combination of the innovative humans and the crafty, clever Masoq that creates a uniquely gifted mind. While Half-Masoq are by no means smart, they are good at creating things. This gives them a +5% to any one trade skill. Their simple-minded understanding also means that it is harder to trick a Half-Masoq with bad trade advice, negating all penalties to intuition checks relating to their trade. They are also quite adept at learning complex processes, and, when the time comes, the Half-Masoq are fully capable of learning techniques that Grand Master and Legendary tradespeople learn.
The most gifted of the Half-Masoq, usually those fortunate enough to have found refuge under the banner of the Church of Mercy, are sometimes known to become engineers. In this case, the Half-Masoq is considered a paragon of their species, capable of manipulating astoundingly complex machinery and reorganizing it into vastly simpler arrays. This comes with a trade-off, of course. When simpler machinery does fail, it has a far greater chance to experience catastrophic failure. [+5% to all rolls with any one tradeskill. Negates intuition check penalty only in regards to chosen tradeskill. +5% to Engineer Innovation class skill. Permanent 15% critical failure threshold on all uses of items engineered by Half-Masoq.]
Brown Blooded Children: The mingling of Masoq and Human blood creates some disgusting, fetid blood that runs through the Half-Masoq’s veins. Species that feast on the blood of Half-Masoq will find it to be quite the disgusting meal. Their blood does contain some benefit, though, as it carries some of the traits of their human parent. [Take one human racial ability as their own, so long as their human parent also possessed that ability.]
The Children of Gutters and Filth: Almost all Half-Masoq come from one place, Kasiq. It is a city so dirty and filthy that the only known Abadorian church outside of Vocor is based there. Even Half-Masoq not born in Kasiq tend to be born and raised in the gutters, rubbish heaps, and filthiest districts of their home. Half-Masoq learn from an early age how to survive in squalor and disease better than any other race out there. This gives them the ability to survive a lack of resources and a plague ridden environment longer. [Immunity to natural disease, -25% MD resistance to sorcerous disease. Can survive a week longer without food and/or water than humans.]
