Colossal Puffball

A cave-dwelling fungus, the colossal puffball grows up to 2’ diameter, with almost no stalk and a spherical crown.  Considered a delicacy in many parts of the world, this mushroom has a sweet, creamy taste and soft texture. Unlike its smaller eastern counterparts, the colossal puffball spores release a soft blue glow, and if they are growing in abundance can even bathe a cave system in enough illumination to see by.
